Ms. Ringstead is a graduate of Brock University in the Honours Bachelor Child and Youth Studies program and is currently completing her Master of Arts in Counselling Psychology with Yorkville University. Most of her professional work experience has been in social work and clinical fields, such as being a children’s mental health clinician, a school mental health consultant, a child and youth worker, and a child protection worker.
She recently sat on the Student-at-Risk case team at Brock University where she met with students who are at risk of harming themselves or others. Previously, she provided rehabilitation support to adults presenting with acquired brain injury at Genesis Community Rehabilitation Inc. in Niagara.
Prior to moving to the Niagara area in 2017, Ms. Ringstead worked for 5 years at North Eastern Ontario Family and Children’s Services in Timmins, a combined Child Welfare/Children Mental Health organization. She was the mental health consultant for a Section 23 classroom and also provided therapeutic services to children, youth, and families with mental health issues.
