Registered Psychotherapist (Teens, Adults, Seniors) St. Catharines
Ms. Mete is a registered psychotherapist located at our St. Catharines office. She provides psychotherapy to older teens, adults, and seniors presenting with anxiety, depression, trauma histories, chronic pain, and relationship issues. She uses a variety of therapy approaches, including cognitive behaviour therapy (CBT), dialectic behaviour therapy (DBT) skills training, narrative therapy, solution-focused therapy, mindfulness, and trauma-informed therapy.
Ms. Mete completed a master’s degree in Clinical Mental Health Counselling at Niagara University in Lewiston, New York in 2013 and a bachelor’s degree in Psychology at Carleton University in 2009. She has also completed her TEACH (Training Enhancement in Applied Cessation Counselling & Health) Certificate at the University of Toronto Faculty of Medicine: Continuing Education and Professional Development Program in 2015. She is certified in Myers-Briggs Training – Step I and Step II. She is also a Canadian Certified Counsellor with the Canadian Psychotherapy and Counselling Association.
In addition to her mental health training, Ms. Mete recently completed her doctoral degree in Leadership and Policy at Niagara University in 2018. She is presently a member of the IN Communities Board of Directors.
In addition to working at Brookside Psychologists, Ms. Mete is currently employed as a registered psychotherapist at Centre de Santé Communautaire, where she administers psychosocial assessments and provides structured psychotherapy services to adults. She previously worked at Niagara Falls Community Health Centre and completed clinical placements at McMaster University Student Wellness Centre and the Niagara Eating Disorders Outpatient Clinic.
