Rachel is a registered psychotherapist with the College of Registered Psychotherapists of Ontario working with adults and couples at Brookside Psychologists’ Burlington office. She is passionate about providing support and assistance to individuals through their struggles and empowering them to make positive life changes.
Rachel previously completed her Honours Bachelor of Applied Science in Psychology from the University of Guelph-Humber in 2017. Subsequently, she went on to complete her Masters of Arts Education in Counselling Psychology at the University of Ottawa in 2019. She is also a Certified Canadian Counsellor (CCC) and member of the Canadian Counselling and Psychotherapy Association (CCPA)
Rachel has experience working with adults and couples from diverse backgrounds and life circumstances. She has worked with them through a variety of mental health issues, including depression, anxiety, trauma, childhood trauma, life transitions, relationship issues, and stress management. She has experience integrating various psychotherapeutic theoretical models into her work, including client-centred therapy, cognitive-behaviour therapy (CBT), solution-focused therapy, and acceptance and commitment therapy (ACT), and eye movement desensitization and reprocessing (EMDR). Rachel strives to support clients through challenging distorted thought patterns, finding alternative paths forward, and establish healthy attitudes and behaviours. She uses an integrative approach to her work to ensure that psychotherapy is tailored to each clients’ needs, goals, and comfort levels.
