Dr. Lana Rappaport is a psychologist providing treatment and assessment for adults at Brookside Psychologists’ Burlington office. Her primary areas of practice include the treatment of mood and anxiety disorders (i.e., depression, anxiety, OCD, bipolar disorder, etc.), trauma-related disorders, and borderline personality disorder. She also provides supportive counselling and relational psychotherapy to address issues related to relationships, self-esteem, & life stress.
Dr. Rappaport uses best practices through an integrative framework of cognitive behaviour therapy (CBT), dialectic behaviour therapy (DBT), interpersonal process therapy (IPT), emotion-focused therapy (EFT), and acceptance and commitment therapy (ACT). She also provides diagnostic psychological assessments to adults.
Dr. Rappaport received her Doctor of Psychology in Clinical Psychology (Psy.D.) from Adler University, British Columbia. Since 2014, Dr. Rappaport has held clinical training positions at Pacific Community Resources Society (PCRS) – Youth Services in Surrey (a suburb of Vancouver), the Mood Disorders Association of British Columbia, Wisemind Centre, Brookside Psychologists, and Dr. Mariyam Ahmed and Associates (working with youth to geriatric populations with a range of complex disorders). She has facilitated and co-facilitated CBT and DBT groups. She has also obtained clinical and research experience at a variety of settings in Montreal and Vancouver, including: The Centre for Clinical Research in Health (CCRH) at Concordia University, Jewish Community Centre of Greater Vancouver Inclusion Services Outreach, and Maimonides Centre for Research in Aging (Montreal). Through her diverse experiences, she has developed a passion for understanding the unique capacity of each individual.
Dr. Rappaport is a member of the Canadian Psychological Association and College of Psychologists of Ontario.
