Karen Walters is a registered Social Worker, Psychotherapist, licensed by the OCSWSSW. She provides psychotherapy to teens (12+) and adults at our St. Catharines office and online.
Karen completed a Bachelor of Social Work (BSW) degree from the University of Waterloo and a Master of Social Work at Wilford Laurier University. She also completed an Honours Bachelor of Applied Science in Nutrition (BASc).
Karen has experience working with adults, children and families with distinct psychological concerns, including anxiety, depression, self-esteem and self-worth. She comes from a strength-based perspective offering various evidence-based modalities, including cognitive behaviour therapy (CBT), acceptance and commitment therapy (ACT), internal family systems, and mindfulness. Karen is passionate about helping others work through their experiences and concerns to reach a place of wellness. Karen uses a strength-based approach to help lead clients through a process of self-discovery bringing them to an awareness of how to move toward healing. Karen recognizes that wellness is attached to every aspect of the person and focuses on the connection and balance between the mind, body, and spirit.
