Carolyn Golden is a registered social worker and psychotherapist. She has an extensive amount of crisis-oriented and outpatient experience working with children, adolescents, adults, and families for over 15 years. She has training in trauma informed psychotherapy approaches, including cognitive behavioural therapy (CBT),dialectical behaviour therapy (DBT), and emotionally focused therapy (EFT).
Among other issues she treats, such as mood disorders, substance use disorder, and suicidal ideation, Carolyn is a trauma informed therapist with extensive training in a variety of settings (police services, child welfare, mental health clinics). Carolyn takes pride in providing evidence-based interventions. She participated as a research assistant in the Canadian Incidence Study of Reported Child Abuse and Neglect, 2008 (CIS-2008). She has published a peer reviewed book chapter and articles on these topics. Carolyn has also taken on leadership and training opportunities, including acting as a field instructor for social work students, doing presentations on research findings and mental health in the workplace, and lecturing as an Instructor through Wilfrid Laurier University’s faculty of social work for professional development.
Carolyn has a Masters in Social Work from the University of Toronto and a certificate in Cognitive Behaviour Therapy (Level 1 and Level 2) through Wilfrid Laurier University.
