Our Practice’s Response to COVID-19 (Coronavirus)

We're Doing Our Part

Updated April 1, 2020:

Our practice is working to stay abreast of recent changes related to COVID-19 (also known as Coronavirus) and to be proactive in our response. We are considering recommendations from the prime minister as well as the Ontario Medical Association, Canada’s Chief Medical Health Officer, Ontario Public Health, the World Health Organization.the College of Psychologists of Ontario, and the Ontario Psychological Association.

In line with the provincial announcement made March 31, 2020 regarding school closures, our practice will follow suit and extend our physical office closure to May 4, 2020.  This may be extended again depending on how the COVID-19 situation unfolds in the coming weeks.

During this time, Brookside Psychologists will be employing telepsychotherapy (telephone or video sessions) as an effective and safe alternative to our standard in-person sessions.

Online Video Counselling

Online video sessions require a webcam and audio. We have partnered with Jane to provide a secure, private online platform for video sessions. The video platform is easy to use and is secure with appropriate encryption and privacy.

If you are not comfortable with technology, we can always accommodate with a telephone session instead.

Telepsychotherapy allows new and existing clients to continue to receive psychology and psychotherapy services from the comforts of their home, particularly in these stressful times.

If you have any questions about telepsychotherapy or any of our services, feel free to contact us at by phone or email.
