Cognitive behaviour therapy (CBT) is provided for treatment of specific conditions, such as depression, OCD, panic attacks, social anxiety, excessive worry, attention-deficit/hyperactivity disorder (ADD/ADHD), or chronic pain.
CBT is based in the belief that our thoughts, feelings and behaviors are all interrelated. Changing one aspect of these three will impact the others and promote positive change. CBT therapists are active participants in sessions, working collaboratively with clients to teach skills that can be used to improve current functioning. CBT tends to be short-term (12 sessions or less) and very strategy-based.
At Brookside Psychologists, our licensed psychologists and psychotherapists offer cognitive behaviour therapy (CBT) for treatment of depression, anxiety, ADD/ADHD, and addictions.
