Andrea is a Certified Nurse Psychotherapist licensed by the Ontario College of Nurses and certified by the Canadian Nurse Psychotherapist Association.
Andrea Paschert is a Certified Nurse Psychotherapist who provides psychotherapy to teens and adults at our St. Catharines office and online. Andrea works with each client to individualize their therapy to their unique needs.
Since 2012, Andrea has provided health services to the local and Indigenous community of Sandy Lake in Northern Ontario. Over the past four years, she served as a mental health case manager as well as a nurse counsellor for the Sandy Lake First Nation Health Authority, where she oversaw mental health care for over 300 clients and coordinated with psychiatrists, nurse practitioners, primary care teams, and hospital staff.
As a registered nurse, Andrea can provide her clients with an outlook that incorporates both medicine and psychotherapy. She has the understanding to help her clients cope with their mental health issues and understand how this can affect their physical being. She works with a clinical lens of cognitive behaviour therapy (CBT), mindfulness, talk therapy, and trauma informed care. She is experienced in crisis intervention and grief therapy.
Andrea completed a diploma in nursing at the Mack School of Nursing at Niagara College in 1995. She subsequently completed advanced psychotherapy training and certification in psychotherapy through the Canadian Nurse Psychotherapist Association. She has completed certification in Trauma Informed Care, Suicide Prevention, Risk Assessment & Management, and Nonviolent Crisis Intervention.
